I am an Australian born hobby cook now living near the South Downs in Sussex, UK who has passion for fire, charcoal and everything barbecue. For Australians the barbecue is your kitchen, and I am no different.
When not working I spend every possible [spare] minute creating, learning and cooking on the barbecue.
My passion and drive is to spread my craft on to others who may also have an interest in barbecuing and inspire them to cook more.
I have also completed a WSET Level 3 Wines Qualification which is a bonus when pairing a good wine with a great barbecue meal.
In most cultures around the world people cook food over open fire.
Barbecue cooking does not have to be restricted to the normal, instead I want to inspire people to be a bit more adventurous on a barbecue.
Wine does not have to be daunting or expensive for it to be enjoyed. I have worked on pairing wine with dishes that I have created on the barbecue for your enjoyment.
Mateship is an Australian cultural idiom that embodies equality, loyalty and friendship and is in my blood.
Food has a special ability to bring people together. I often find this in my own life, and I hope you will find that this website feels just as welcoming as your backyard barbecue. For me, cooking together builds the best communities

My favourite food is anything shared with mates........
Testosterone and Tongs is a play on words. Barbecue has always had this reputation for masculinity and often conjures up the vision of beer-swilling bearded men cooking big slabs of meat on the grill. I would like to show people that barbecuing does not have to be that way.

I strive to create elegant, sophisticated and tasty world cuisines, that are adaptable to an open fire, charcoal and (even) gas barbecues. I hope I inspire people to get outdoors while enjoying the excitement of fire, smoke and cooking with a glass of wine in hand.
All you need to get involved is a barbecue, tongs and a glass of wine.
